Welcome to Joseph's Jams Blog

Hello, my name is Joseph Thiessen (pronounced TEE-sen). I'm not a prolific writer, but I enjoy putting my thoughts into words from time to time. This blog is a collection of my personal writings, interviews I've been part of, and occasionally, pieces that catch my attention. As someone with a passion for technology, growth in my Identity in Christ, and music, I find joy in exploring a wide range of topics. Feel free to explore and discover what resonates with you. While comments are not typically enabled, I welcome your kind thoughts and feedback. To get started, I recommend checking out some of my favorite posts, such as God's Healing through a Stick of Gum? , God Encounters at Waffle House , and Deja Vu of the God Kind .  Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy your time here!

The Importance of Sharing Our Stories

Small talk can be difficult for me. Maybe that’s because there’s a place in my soul that’s still crying out to be soothed—and normal conversation can feel like a waste of time. Children that age don’t have the skills to decipher whether or not harm is being done unless a parent is present to protect them. In my case, a parent was present and unknowingly his words landed on the shelf of my mind.  In the removal and rebuilding phases of JC, I surrendered the ability of others to question/minimize who I am and what I’ve decided in the moment. No longer do people have the ability to add to or remove from a shelf of my life. I have the power and capability to do this myself. I need not cower in fear if my path looks different than others’ ...
